Privacy Policy

SweetThings Foods (Bengaluru, Karnataka, India) runs this site and decides how your personal data is handled — in legal terms, we're the data fiduciary. This policy covers what we collect when you browse or order, why, and the choices you have.

We've written it to line up with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the IT Act rules on sensitive personal data.

We only ask for what we need to get sweets to the right door:

• Who you are & how to reach you — name, email address and phone number.
• Where it's going— the delivery and billing addresses you enter, and the recipient's name and phone if you're sending a gift.
• Your orders — what you bought, order history, gift messages and any notes you leave us.
• Payment — payments run through Razorpay. We receive a confirmation and a reference, but we never see or store your full card, UPI or bank details— those go straight to Razorpay under its own privacy policy.
• Technical bits — basic device, browser and usage data, and cookies (see section 5), so the site works and we can improve it.

We use your data to:

• take, prepare and deliver your order, and keep you updated on it;
• process payments and issue your GST invoice;
• answer your questions and handle any freshness or delivery issue;
• prevent fraud and keep the shop secure;
• send you offers and updates only if you've opted in — you can stop these any time; and
• meet our legal and tax obligations.

We don't sell your personal data, full stop. We share it only with the partners who help us run the shop, and only as far as they need it:

• Courier partners — your name, address and phone, so they can deliver and let you track the parcel.
• Razorpay — to process your payment securely.
• Service providers — the hosting, email and analytics tools that keep the site running, bound to keep your data confidential.
• Authorities — if the law genuinely requires it, or to protect our rights and our customers.

We use a small number of cookies — some are essential (they keep your cart and login working), and others help us understand how the site is used so we can make it better. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the essential ones need to stay on for checkout to work.

We keep your data only as long as we need it — to fulfil your orders, support you, and meet tax and accounting rules (which in India generally means holding invoice and order records for several years). After that, we delete or anonymise it.

Your connection to us is encrypted (HTTPS), payments run through PCI-DSS-compliant Razorpay, and we limit who can see your data to the people who need it to do their job. No system is ever perfectly secure, but we take reasonable, up-to-date steps to keep your information safe.

Under India's data-protection law, you can ask us to:

• tell you what personal data we hold about you;
• correct anything that's wrong or out of date;
• delete data we no longer need to keep; and
• withdraw a consent you gave us (such as marketing) at any time.

If you've opted in to hear from us, every email has an unsubscribe link — one click and you're off the list. We'll still send you the essentials, like order confirmations and delivery updates, because those are part of the service.

The shop is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect data from children; if you believe a child has given us their details, let us know and we'll remove them.

If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For anything significant, we'll give you a heads-up where we reasonably can.
